The Good Old Days . TGOD as the name suggests , this newly opened joint at Purna Das Road , promises to stir all your memories and takes you into a journey of nostalgia.
The moment you enter this cosy foodies delight , you get the feel of a British Retro cafe . From the wooden decor to the stoned walls , the post box calendar to the raw pipelines on the ceiling , a peek into this place transports you into a bookish charm you find in medieval British novels . For an avid admirer of Sherlock Holmes , this seemed like a new mystery to unwind . What attracted me to this place is this blend of old and new and the ever friendly Co owner who sat down excitedly to explain the upcoming additions to the decor – pictures of the evolution of old gadgets and it’s history . The upper deck has a loft where you can sit and relax with your friends over a conversation with chai, shisha and cofee . A typical addition to kolkata’s adda culture with a twist.
The menu if not elaborate can satisfy your insatiable food desires and very pocket friendly. A variety of Chai from Masala to Moroccon , a wide spread eggetarian display , wraps , sandwiches , continental bites , you can have it all here . The chef takes time to include every minutest detail in the recipes and explains it to you if you ask for it . I had a very good experience visiting TGOD and I bet you will not be dissapointed paying a visit and relieve your good old days here.
