Both are real facts but unfortunately our education system and the designer of this education system never want to recognize the heritage of this land so the people of this land can feel proud off it.
It is unfortunate that we are unable to remove them as they are educated from JNU type Universities and they know how to seat on top of the education system and impose their ideas over the truths and historical facts of this land.
Our problem is we unable to believe our own heritage and history until some one come from west and mention and recognize them.
Well scientist from IISC says that Mahabharat war occurred in 1478 BC
Scientist several times mentioned that the descriptions of Mahabharata and Ramayana incidents were seems perfectly matching with modern calculation of the planetary positions.
Blogger Jayashree mentioned all those matched incidents in her blog “Dating Mahabharata based on astrological interpretation of planetary positions ”
Scientist during 2001 discovered a submerged city near Dwaraka, which they are assuming as the lost city Dwaraka of Lord Krishna , who was the central character of Mahabharata.
Dwarka, India – 12,000 Year Old City of Lord Krishna Found was there.
And Dwarka – Krishna ‘s Home Discovered !!
When “Did Krishna exist?” was asked to Dr Manish Pandit , a nuclear medicine physician who teaches in the United Kingdom given several prof supporting this argument that ‘Lord Krishna existed. School texts are wrong’ and all of them are the out put of research and analysis, interestingly it is very tough to ignore those given proofs.
Neminatha twenty-second Tirthankara (ford-maker) in Jainism was the cousin of Lord Krishna ,interestingly Neminatha was a historical character.
The Greek historian Megasthenes has mentioned that Chandragupta Maurya was the 138 King in the lineage of Shri Krishna, which means that Shri Krishna did exist in the bygone era and that Mahabharat also really occur.
Apart from there are several evidence for which we can say that Mahabharata is a real one not an imaginary story.

Apparently Salya of Mahabharata was the decedent of Lav Kush of Ramayana, which says that both Ramayan and Mahabharata has historical evidence rather calling them just “Myth” by British to distance people from their own heritage will be wrong.
With all those above mentioned arguments we can accept that Ramayana & Mahabharata were real historical stories not fictional.
